Some of you might remember this post about my planned wedding present to my BFF and her now-husband.

Well, it came back from the framers (London Art Company) yesterday! I’ve since changed the design slightly, but the idea remains the same. And yes, the dates are different because I accidentally used the wrong date on the original design. I ended up printing it A3 and combined with the frame, it turned out perfectly. With printing at Officeworks and getting it framed (including glass), this turned out to be pretty budget-friendly.

Oh, and she loved it, btw :)  I think she finally realised why I kept hounding her about her first dance song choices, haha!

Playing around a bit with making an artwork for part of my wedding present to my BFF and her groom - the numbers are the wedding date and the words are actually the lyrics of the bride and groom’s first dance song, as you can see from the close up in the second photo. Was planning to print it out on thick cardboard, then embossing the numbers so they stick out and get it framed.

I’m unsure if it’s too simple or if it’s not subtle. I also don’t know what size to make it overall. What sizes are good for wedding artwork? A4? A3? I didn’t want the lyrics to be legible until you’re near it. Plus, should the font be cursive instead?

So many options! Thoughts/ideas?

ETA: Oops, forgot to mention they won’t live together until after they get married, so I don’t know what their interior design is or what they prefer and don’t have other artwork of theirs to compare against. The bride is very girly and the groom is very stereotypically masculine though, so thought I’d try and keep the artwork as unisex as possible.

Even though my BFF’s wedding is 6 months away, I’m already thinking of part of my wedding gift to her and the groom. I’m going to get them something from the registry (a ‘for them’ gift), but also want to get them something individually - ‘for her’ and ‘for him’.

I know I want to get her a pair of beautiful, special occasion earrings, just unsure which ones to get her! Her engagement ring is white gold with filigree detailing with diamonds and a mid to light blue sapphire in the middle, so I wanted to get her a pair of earrings that complements that. She’s also a fan of vintage-esque looking things.

I also want the earrings to complement my present to the groom, which is a pair of cufflinks. The cufflinks will either be silver + gold Celtic shields or Claddagh cufflinks (the bride wears a silver Claddagh ring every day).

Should I choose 1, 2, 3 or 4? They’re all roughly the same price, so that’s not a deal breaker.

- One

White and blue diamonds, 25mm long.

- Two

White sapphires and aquamarine, 27mm long.

- Three

White and blue diamonds, 15.5mm long.

- Four

Vintage earrings, unknown stones, 102mm long.

I’m thinking 4 might be a bit too gaudy and they’re actually bloody long! 1 is a little too small for my idea of special occasions. I’m personally leaning towards 2.
